When the trailer of Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30 was out, it invited a whole lot of discussions about whether or not he’s got his dialect right. They say a good film is the one that keeps you hold till the next day of watching first. For me, it’s Hrithik Roshan’s performance that’s still lingering somewhere in me since yesterday.

That’s not solely because how well he has mastered his performance, that’s also because I’ve lived a major chunk of life with one such person. I can relate to Hrithik Roshan’s Anand Kumar because I had one in my life. Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, he taught me how education is never just about theory. Yup, he was my teacher since 10th grade until now and forever.

OPINION: Before I Saw Hrithik Roshan In Super 30, I Already Had An 'Anand Kumar' In My Life

I don’t know how he’ll react reading his name being used in the article without his permission, but I’m sure he’ll be proud of me. Sonu Singh. I was struggling with my grades post having ‘oh-so-scholar’ childhood, and he was working in my building as a security guard. His father guarded my apartment since its inception, and Sonu was just another guy who wanted to stay close to his father. He is a common man, just as Anand Kumar, with a very uncommon journey just as him.

I was in my 10th grade and he was preparing for his Third Year Grad exams. Down with Jaundice, I still remember how he took orders from the building residents and took my tuitions. Just a day before his final exam, he was down on his ‘charpai’ still studying and making me study. I registered that moment and treasured it with me for inspiration.

Currently, he’s a manager at Siemens, India, and has invested in various properties in the Suburbs. He still retains his record in school with the highest percentage in his 10th grade. He’s my life’s ‘Anand Kumar’ and I know Hrithik was flawless in the film because of the same reasons. Opinions could be subjective but after being with such people for the majority of your time, you’ve to believe ‘Anand Kumar’ exists.

Congratulations Hrithik for taking the risk of playing this brilliant person in your film. This, without any two doubts, is surely one of your best performances. Let the world witness from tomorrow!
