The moral brigade seems to have its hands full, what with ‘Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum‘ turning out to be the case of excess for them. While the target audience seems to be fine with films belonging to this genre and have given thumbs up to the film, ironically there are certain external forces that have a bone to pick. No wonder, Sarah-Jane Dias, leading lady of the film, is finding an apparent disconnect between audience and the moral brigade.
Says Sarah. “Come on, can’t we see that we have an ever changing audience? ‘Kyaa Kool Hain Hum‘ came seven years back and even then the audience had lapped it up. Now last year we had ‘Delhi Belly’ and it did well too. The audience today is ready for a launch of different themes. Ours is an adult comedy and I don’t see why anyone should not enjoy it. At the end of the day, people react to different films in different ways. The way they would respond to an adult comedy would always be different than the way they would do for a quintessential ‘masala’ entertainer.”
Sarah confesses though that while filming this Ekta Kapoor production, she did feel awkward at times.

She says in an animated tone, “At times when Sachin (Yardi – the director) came to me with the dialogue sheet, I would ask him if he seriously wanted me to say some of those risqué lines. A sweetheart that he is, he would put me on a pedestal and encourage me to the hilt. I was flattered easily and uska kaam ho jaata tha.”
Now that the film is a success, she is happy to have taken a risk after a not-so-happening start with ‘Game’.
“I took a conscious call”, she says unapologetically. “Even if you term it as a risk, I am happy to have taken it. I don’t regret ‘Game’ even though it didn’t do well commercially. Now with ‘Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum‘, I knew for sure that the film could not go wrong. We are now en route to be a superhit and ‘super kool’.”
Well, the collections seem to indicate that already.
