But when Kareena Kapoor signs up for a Rs. 5 crore deal, we are forced to sit up and take notice. Yes, the heroine with the most films in the Rs. 100 crore club seems to be on a roll, in spite of the failure of Agent Vinod at the box-office. If reports are to be believed, the actress has signed up as the brand ambassador of a cola brand for a whooping sum of Rs. 5 crore. Before you start counting the zeroes in that figure, remember that Kareena has apparently been paid Rs. 8 crore for acting in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine. While the figure of Rs. 8 crore is something that people might argue about, this latest deal leaves no doubt in one’s mind that Kareena Kapoor is the top paid actress in Bollywood today.

Guessing what this is all about? Priyanka Chopra spent some quality time with international pop star Katy Perry when the latter was in Chennai to perform at the IPL 5 Opening Ceremony. Not only did the Bollywood actress break bread with Perry, she even took the pop sensation on a rickshaw ride!

The original showman of Bollywood Subhash Ghai is embattling a different monster these days. After being asked to vacate huge tract of land in Mumbai’s Film City by the Supreme Court and to not run courses in his film school after 2014, Ghai saw many industry stalwarts rallying to support him at a press conference held in Mumbai on 11 April 2011. We sincerely hope that this support will do him some good.
