Kangana Ranaut Talks About Her ‘HIT’ Interview She Has Ever Given

Kangana Ranaut was one among the many Bollywood celebrities interviewed by Chopra. In a light conversation at the book launch, talking about her experiences of interviews she expressed, “Interviews are a part of my job, but they aren’t all the same. There are the really crappy ones that test your patience. Those are not real interviews. Sometimes, they ask you to do funny things like sing a song or twirl. You’re treated like a ‘madari ka bandar’, and it’s embarrassing. Then there are genuine interviews, like the ones on The Front Row. I often joke that my interview in The Front Row was the biggest hit I ever had. It was a real interview. We talked about things that matter.”

Further elaborating on how invested is she in the manufactured PR image and how would she be willing to break that, she said, “As much you try and make thick skin it does matter what people think of you especially when you are in this businesses where image is everything. It means a lot, the kind of roles you get that people identify with. Overall the business is completely based on the kind of image that you have, the perception that you have. So it does matter also in this age where everything spreads like wild fire. No one really cared to knew who I was as a person, and around that time I wasn’t that successful and people have their own pre-conceived notions of the people who come from outside. People were not willing to take my interview; and you did it with a lot of passion though and I was more passionate to talk about my life. There weren’t many people who were so interested and invested in my life and my struggle, so that interview was commendable.”
