Down South remakes have become the latest trend in Bollywood. It all started with Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh’s blockbuster success, which was the official adaptation of Vijay Deverakonda’s Telugu film Arjun Reddy. Now adding to the list is Allu Arjun’s successful flick Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, which may be led by Kartik Aaryan.
There’s no hiding from the fact that the Pati Patni Aur Woh actor is the current favourite and the first choice of filmmakers amongst Gen-Y actors. Kartik Aaryan already has an interesting line up with films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Dostana 2, if reports around Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo are true, that will only be a feather added to his cap.
Recent reports now suggest that Allu Arjun is collaborating with S Radha Krishna to produce the film in Hindi, and have narrowed down on Kartik as the leading man. “Allu Arjun and S Radha Krishna are now teaming up one more time to produce Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in Hindi. The script is in place and they have even got a director on board to helm the project. Rohit Dhawan, who earlier directed Desi Boyz and Dishoom will be captaining this one. The makers wanted to make it with a young Gen-Y star who has a good audience base.” a source close to Pinkvilla revealed.
Furthermore, while Rohit Dhawan was reportedly keen on having brother Varun Dhawan in lead, the makers have decided to go forward with Aaryan. “Kartik has been narrated the full Hindi version of the script over a video call recently in the presence of Allu and Radha Krishna. He had loved the original and from what we hear, he has already given his nod to the Hindi remake as well. The team is currently figuring out his dates and will lock the schedule once everything is back to normal.” We texted Rohit but he didn’t respond to our texts,” reveals the source further.
To add onto the good news is the fact that the film may witness its release in 2021, if things work as planned. The actor is said to move onto this one soon after he finishes Dostana 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
