‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ Actor Ravi Baswani Passes Away

Actor Ravi Baswani, the bespectacled photographer in the cult satire-comedy Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, passed away on Tuesday (27^th July, 2010) following a massive heart attack. The 64 year old actor was a successful comedian in film and television.

Ravi Baswani began his career as a stage actor and went on to make his debut with the classic comedy Chashme Baddoor in 1981 also starring Farooq Sheikh, Rakesh Bedi and Deepti Naval. His role in Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro won him the Filmfare Best Comedian Award in 1984.

The actor continued to do comic roles in movies like Bunty Aur Babli, Chal Mere Bhai, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. Ravi was reportedly planning to make his directorial debut with a sequel to Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro with his good friend Naseeruddin Shah.
