D’Cruz made her debut in the Telugu film industry with Devadasu (2006). She kicksstarted her Tamil cinema career with Kedi (2006). In 2012, Ileana made her Hindi film debut with Anurag Basu’s Barfi! (2012).

Ileana was last seen on screen in the multi-starrer Pagalpanti. This Anees Bazmee directorial also starred Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Arshad Warsi, Urvashi Rautela, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda and Saurabh Shukla.
On the work front, Ileana D’Cruz will next be seen in Ajay Devgn’s production titled ‘The Big Bull.’ The film is reportedly based on India’s biggest securities scam of 1992. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan will not be released theatrically but will stream worldwide on Disney+Hotstar.
