Join UsThe much anticipated IIFA awards 2015 entertained Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia for a second time. While Bollywood stars reigned down on the red carpet for the grand awards night, the evening itself had quite a few high points; and also a few misses!
As an avowed Bollywood buff, here’s a take on what rocked and what didn’t at IIFA 2015.
Parineeti Chopra
She’s lost oodles of weight and is looking like a million bucks sure. But her dancing, well, needs some serious improvement! Not lacking in energy, but definitely wanting for grace; Parineeti’s uninhibited style though got the crowd on it’s feet.
Anushka Sharma
An eye catching gold dress and retro make up made Anushka look stunning; but when she grooved on stage, she didn’t quite woo with her moves. A performing actor she sure is, but onstage drama, needs oomphing up. Big thumbs up for her dance troupe who looked and performed gracefully, making the act memorable.
Shraddha Kapoor
The petite Kapoor kid has rocked the box office with her mean moves in ABCD 2. At IIFA 2015, she took on the challenge of performing to Subhash Ghai’s hits; a gutsy move to follow in the nimble footsteps of Aishwarya & Madhuri. She was energetic and expressive, but somehow looked restricted onstage. We wish she’d displayed more flair with her act; but for an IIFA debut, Shraddha made quite an impression!
Sonakshi Sinha
The box office might have been unkind to Sona for sometime; but when it comes to matching steps to massy numbers, this actress totally pulls it off! Sonakshi paid tribute to leading men of Bollywood with élan; doing her trademark dubsmash act, Sonakshi stole the limelight with isshtyle.
Shahid Kapoor
Shahid did a kickass performance, as always. Apart from walking away with the Best Actor award, Kapoor is one heck of a performer and simply set the stage on fire, literally.
Hrithik Roshan
The Greek God of Bollywood sways with ease. We cannot deny the fact that men did better on IIFA. Though, he is 44 but the guy looks 22. Does he have any bones? It was a visual treat to watch him.
Hosting
Here is the best part of the evening. The Bollywood Gunday Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor got a serious dose of conservative ire after the AIB Roast; but they didn’t care much this time and showered payback onstage. The duo did not spare anyone and cracked irreverent jokes to everyone’s amusement. Though, it was the first time for Ranveer and Arjun in hosting IIFA, the duo were so effortless that most Bollywood stars attending the event have lauded them. We absolutely adore their devil may care, natural wit on the IIFA stage.
