From Sooryavanshi To Prithviraj, Here’s How Akshay Kumar’s Line Up Is Most Affected Due To Coronavirus Pandemic

Akshay Kumar has always been one of the most active and busiest actors in Bollywood. Every year he releases 3-4 films which have a major share in the yearly business of Bollywood. After a stupendous 2019, this year too he had several biggies lined up which were expected to do much more. From Sooryavanshi to Prithviraj, Akshay had an exciting line up for 2020 but just when everyone was waiting excitedly, Coronavirus Pandemic played a huge spoilsport.

The films scheduled to release were postponed, shootings were stalled, productions were stopped and everything went haywire. Now everyone in Bollywood is affected and waiting to see the light. But Akshay Kumar is one superstar who is most affected.

While his Sooryavanshi has been delayed and no one knows when will it hit cinemas, another film of him Laxmmi Bomb has been pushed. There have been murmurs around that the film may directly hit the OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar and we all know that won’t be a piece of good news for everyone in a real way. Watching a superstar film in the cinema is an experience of a whole new level. Even if you have a home theatre system at place, nothing can beat the cinematic experience and people will lose it if a big film like LB comes on digital medium directly.

And then there is one more film Prithviraj which was scheduled to release this year. The period film also starring ex-Miss Universe Manushi Chhillar along with Akshay Kumar has a huge hype. Most part of the film’s shooting is also complete but it doesn’t like it will release the cinemas this year.

Then there are Bachchan Pandey, Bell Bottom, and Atrangi Re. The former also starring Kriti Sanon was about to go on floors from May but due to lockdown being extended and no relief from COVID-19, it’s schedule got hampered. Atrangi Re was also supposed to go on floors from April 15 with Sara Ali Khan, which didn’t happen sadly. Needless to say, the Aanand L Rai film which brings Akshay, Sara & Dhanush together has also been pushed now. And then the last one, Bell Bottom. The period spy-thriller set in the ’80s was to kickstart from August. The film was also to be shot in outdoor locations. But according to a Mumbai Mirror report now re-working on logistics will be an extra-difficult task till next year. Right now the makers are fine-tuning the script.

We hope the situation gets normalised soon.
