Sona Jain’s For Real a sensitive film, made in English, is the story of a six-year-old girl who witnesses discord in her family, which causes a chain reaction in her mind, making her withdraw into a fantasy world where she believes that her real mother has been sent to the Orion Galaxy and the mother at home is actually an alien.
Director Sona, through ‘For Real’, has explored the story of an unhappy home through the eyes of an imaginative little girl whose only motivation is to see her mother happy. It is not surprising that Sona has won the Best Producer and Best Cinematography awards for this film at the Asian Festival of First Films in Singapore. At the same festival, Shriharsh Sharma and Zoya Hassan won the Best Actor and the Best Actress awards respectively. The film also won the Special Jury Prize for English fiction at the Ahmedabad International Film Festival. The film releases in India on 17th September.
