EXCLUSIVE! Sushant Singh Rajput’s Dil Bechara Co-Star Deepak Kalra On Trolls Targetting Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt: “People Are Trying To Take Advantage”

Sushant Singh Rajput’s unfortunate demise has left everyone heartbroken. On June 14, the actor died by suicide in Mumbai. Today, the trailer of his last film Dil Bechara is out. The film is an adaptation of Hollywood film, The Fault in Our Stars. Also starring Sanjana Sanghi, it marks the directorial debut of Mukesh Chhabra.

As Dil Bechara is Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film, a lot of fans wanted it to release in theatre. But that’s not happening. After the Kai Po Che actor’s death, the internet has become a strange place. When the late actor’s friends revealed that he was in depression, many people on internet blamed nepotism. A lot of people tweeted how star kids were given the films that were first offered to Sushant.

Some people even trolled Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan and others for allegedly boycotting Sushant. There are a lot of theories going viral on the actor’s death. But the Mumbai police is doing a thorough investigation and hasn’t blamed anyone yet. Koimoi spoke to Sushant Singh Rajput’s Dil Bechara co-star Deepak Kalra. Just like Rajput, Deepak is also a non-star kid and made his mark in the film industry. We asked him about the debate of nepotism and the excessive trolling happening on the internet. Read below to know what Kalra said.

A lot of debate is going on nepotism post-Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Star kids are bashed a lot. As a non-starkid, what’s your take on this?

Zindagi jeene ke do tareeke hote hai ya to jo ho raha hai wo hone do, ya kuch karo usko badalne ke liye. Agar nepotism hai to hai. But this can never stop you from fulfilling your dreams. It’s on you how you take it. Either you can say “Ki yaar yaha to sirf star kids ko mauka milta hai, main to kuch kar hi nahi paonga” or you can say “Unka mauka milta hoga lekin main bhi banoonga jo mujhe banna hai I BELIEVE IN MYSELF. Raasta thoda mushkil zaroor hoga lekin namumkin nahi.”

Many theories/accusations are going viral on the internet about Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Karan Johar, Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt are targetted and trolled. Celebs are switching off their comments section. What do you have to say about this?

I personally don’t believe in such theories and accusations. A lot of people are just trying to take advantage of the situation which is not good. For the celebs, it’s their choice to turn off their comments or make their account private.
