Join UsLatest Bollywood release Kabir Singh has been getting extreme reactions from people all over. There are people who are loving the film so much and there are others who are bashing by calling it a film which promotes “misogyny” and “toxic masculinity”.
Just a few days back, Bollywood singer Sona Mohapatra slammed the film and now CBFC member, Vani Tripathi Tikoo, has come ahead by posting a series of tweets against the film.
Vani wrote, “I’m serious about this thought that Misogyny is “Infectious” have been noticing the narrative around #KABIRSINGH past few days..What a terribly misogynistic and extremely violent film! Arjun Reddy was bad enough and now this remake! Am I surprised it’s doing well …Well Well!”

She continued, “I find it baffling that “Big Stars” make these choices who actually lead by Example! As the Cinematic journey of the country has gone beyond its “Traditional” Women as “Eye Candy” routine. Can we remember how movie characters are idolised? #StopMisogyny #KabirSingh”

Further sharing her thoughts on why an actor should think before chosing a role, she said, “Someone asked me after my last post what’s wrong with an Actor choosing a role? Dear pal there is never a wrong or a right it’s the choices that you make on screen to portray is what defines who you are! A character is only a piece of written paper if not enlivened by an actor!”

Meanwhile, Kabir Singh has garnered great love from the paying public at the Box Office. After a stunning opening of 20.21 crores, the film showed a strong jump in the weekend to earn 70.83 crores. On Monday the film had an extraordinary hold as it earned 17.54 crores to take the 4 day total to 88.37 crores. The film is all set to cross 100 crores mark in mere 5 days of its run.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film stars Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead.
