Bringing in the breaking news, in the recent turn of event, the special court in Mumbai has rejected Rhea Chakraborty‘s bail plea. Earlier, her plea was dismissed, and she was handed over to the NCB for the 14-day judicial custody. The special court has decided not to grant her bail this time too as it can be fatal for the evidence. Read on to know more.
For the unversed, Rhea was arrested by the NCB for the drug Involvement in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The Jalebi actor was transferred to the Byculla Women’s Prison. It was told yesterday that a special court was set for her bail hearing.
Now according to the latest update as per TOI, Rhea Chakraborty was not granted bail. The reason is that she might tamper evidence and also influence others. The case was addressed to Special Judge GB Gurao. The bail applications of the four other arrested were even heard. The court was adjourned after that.
As per the statement given by Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde, he said, “Once we get a copy of the NDPS Spl Court Order, we will decide next week on the course of action about approaching the High Court”.
Rhea Chakraborty was taken into 14-day judicial custody till September 22. The NCB aims to bust the larger racket of a drug cartel of which Rhea is also possibly a part of. After Rhea allegedly accepted that she not just consumed marijuana but also some hard drugs, she was booked under sections 8(c), 20(b), 27(a), 28, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).
Apart from the NCB, the ED and CBI continue their probe with Rhea Chakraborty as the main suspect. Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh had even accused the Jalebi actor of money laundering and abetting to suicide.
