It wasn’t much ago when fans were surprised with taking Prabhudheva on board for Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3. He has given the superstar one of his most memorable movies in Wanted and is all prepped up to redo the magic again.
The movie is all slated to enjoy the Christmas weekend this year. Makers have already started to hype it up by sharing a few of the stills from the sets. Few rumours about THE ‘item song’ which has been a trademarked presence in every Dabangg film, and also the seeti-maar one-liners.
In a recent interview with SKJ Bollywood News, Prabhudheva opened up about the bad guy Sudeep and how Salman Khan’s stardom has always been beyond the box office. When asked about the expectations from the titular role, he said “We are doing the best we can. But then the expectations riding on the Franchise are frightening. Audiences expect Salman to be the same Chulbul Pandey and still they expect him to do something new. We have done what we could.”
He also opened about the great face-off between Salman Khan & Kichcha Sudeep. He added, “It had to be an actor who would be able to stand up in front of Salman. Sudeep is a huge star in Karnataka and a talent to reckon with. By getting him to play the negative role we’ve ensured there is no sense of sameness about Salman’s clash with the villain.”
People also said how Salman Khan’s career was on a downhill until Prabhudheva’s Wanted. The director expressed his views about the same, “A superstar like Salman Khan didn’t need Wanted to make an impact. His career and stardom go beyond the box office. We’ve done what we could in Dabangg 3. Have we succeeded? We will know in December.”
He also talked about the dialogues in Dabangg 3, “The line was not written to stand out. These things cannot be designed. When Salman Sir said the ‘Commitment’ dialogue none of us thought it would create such an impact. Similarly, Dabangg 3 may have lines that make the same impact.”
