Though Aamir Khan, in the first part finale of Satyamev Jayate’s season 2, walked us through the crucial importance of voting, we were almost aghast to find that his nephew Imran Khan won’t go to vote this time.
In an interview with Koimoi, Imran told us, “Sadly, India doesn’t permit dual citizenship till now. Since I am a U.S citizen by birth and hold an American passport, I can’t vote this year. If I were to give up my U.S passport, I will have to pay a decade’s tax in advance. So I don’t know what to do.”
Even the 2 States actress suffers from a similar misfortune. The actress too holds a British passport and citizenship. At a promotional event for 2 States, the actress said that couldn’t submit the documents this time, she will try to procure a voting card next time.
