Akshay Kumar Gets Nostalgic As He Shoots For Bell Bottom In Scotland 21 Years After Aarzoo

‘Ab tere dil mein hum aa gaye.’ This was the Anu Malik composed and Anand Bakshi written chartbuster song that Akshay Kumar shot 21 years ago in Scotland. He was paired with Madhuri Dixit in the film and Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik made sure that they deliver their best rendition. The actors also ensured that they gave this melodious number complete justice.
After shooting for the song back in 1999, Akshay Kumar was pleasantly surprised when he found himself back at the same scenic locations for his upcoming film Bell Bottom.
“After spending a few days in quarantine, Akshay Kumar faced the camera for a feature film after a really long time,” says a source close to the actor. “Though he has shot for a few campaigns as well as endorsements in the interim period, being on the sets and real locations for a film was nostalgic enough for him. No wonder, he had a really broad grin on his face once he found himself amidst beautiful scenic locales of Scotland. For him, it was a journey back in time” added the source.
Though Akshay Kumar has shot world over in numerous countries over the years, surprisingly he hadn’t been to Scotland in the last 20 years.
“He has very fond memories of shooting with Madhuri Dixit. At that time, he was riding up the ladder and was known more for his action films. On the other hand, Madhuri Dixit was a top superstar. To be working together in an out and out romantic musical drama was a unique experience for Akshay as well,” the source continues.
The source added, “The hills, lakes and gardens were etched in his memory. It was a whole new set up for him, when compared to all the cars he was chasing, the bikes he was riding, the planes he was climbing and the hovercrafts he was escaping.”
Though Bell Bottom too is a period drama and expected to be an intense spy thriller, one now waits to see how Scotland’s beautiful locations complement the storytelling. The fact that the superstar is shooting the entire film there, in a start to finish schedule, one can expect the country to only add on to the nostalgia.
