After Nana Patekar and Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar lends a helping hand to the drought striken Maharashtra. Akshay Kumar has donated 50 lacs towards ‘Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyaan’, the initiative of Maharashtra Government, which is aiming to develop drought-proof villages by using water harvesting techniques and constructing ponds.
The state is going through a rough patch as majority of farmers and villagers are suffering severely with drought conditions. Akshay Kumar had previously donated 90 lacs to the families of 180 farmers who committed suicide.
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis appreciated Akshay Kumar and thanked him for his contribution for Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyaan.
