Renowned film writer Abbas Tyrewala, who has also directed films like Jaane Tu.. Ya Jaane Na and Jhootha Hi Sahi has acquitted actress Preity Zinta for cheque bouncing case.
Today, Preity was acquitted by The Magistrate of a Metropolitan Court in a case of cheque bouncing, registered by Abbas Tyrewala. This news was confirmed by Preity’s lawyer Hitesh Jain.
Abbas Tyrewala had filed this case in 2013, who had the contract of writing 8 lines of voice over for Preity’s film Ishkq in Paris. The makers asked Abbas to deliver the voice over in a short notice and gave advance cheque to him, which he could encash after delivering the work.
Abbas tried to encash the cheque in November and it bounced, as the bank was instructed to stop the payment becuase he didn’t deliver the work as per the contract between them.
Preity’s lawyer argued that the cheque was given to Abbas by undertaking that he would not deposit the cheque without informing Preity. This contention was accepted by the Magistrate, who acquitted Preity Zinta.
