Rating: 3/5 Stars (Three stars)
Music Director/s: Amit Trivedi
User Rating:
Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Shaandaar is definitely one of the year’s most anticipated films of the year. The Vikas Bahl revolves around a snazzy destination wedding. Since Indian weddings are known for their grandeur, the music album is expected to be a bombastic one. The Amit Trivedi led soundtrack is a short one with just five songs. We are expecting quality over quantity in this one.
Shaam Shaandaar – Shaandaar Music Review
Shaam Shaandaar is a high-intensity track that promises you to groove with it. Sung and composed by Amit Trivedi, the film has a good blend of techno beats as well as the typical Punjabi wedding beats. Lyrics are well-written by trusted lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya. The musical arrangements themselves make you feel that the song’s video will add a lot of glamour to the already shining number. Shaam Shaandaar is a good hear and it seems it will be even better to watch it in the film.
Gulaabo – Shaandaar Music Review
Shaandaar‘s trailer itself looked fresh and full of life. In keeping that vibe is the music of the film and hence Gulaabo makes up for an extremely fun song. The lyrics by Anvita Dutt are simply catchy and quirky enough to attract listeners. Vishal Dadlani lends his powerful voice for the song and does full justice to it. Anusha Mani sings the female vocals and she too brings a great flavor to it. The song is quite urban with its beats and has Trivedi’s signature all over it.
Nazdeekiyaan – Shaandaar Music Review
Nazdeekiyaan is a special number thanks to its composition style. It relies on varied instruments to give it a different flavor. Nikhil Paul George and Neeti Mohan croon this romantic number. It is a ‘feel good’ track that finds instant likability. For those who like to hold onto songs which are lyrically beautiful, this is a definite pick from the album.
Senti Wali Mental – Shaandaar Music Review
Amitabh Bhattacharya has the knack to write quirky numbers and Senti Wali Mental is one of those. It is a funny song but not as much enjoyable to listen to. Compared to the rest of the songs, Senti Wali Mental is one of the weakest. It seems to be one of the situational numbers in the film and hence as an audio track, it is not very impressive.
Raita Phail Gaya – Shaandaar Music Review
Raita Phail Gaya is once again a situational number and looking at its lyrics, it seems, the song will make-up for a great watch. The music is folk style with ample of variations. Divya Kumar sings it with full gusto. Raita Phail Gaya is an average number as an audio track.
The Last Word – Shaandaar Music Review
The Shaandaar album is concise but has great quality to it as composer Amit Trivedi makes it a full flavored wedding album. Lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Anvita Dutt work well with it. My picks from the album are ‘Gulaabo‘, ‘Shaam Shaandaar‘ and ‘Nazdeekiyaan‘. I am going with a 3/5 for the album.
