Hrithik Roshan turns a year older today, January 10, 2012. Hrithik is the son of well-known actor-turned-director, Rakesh Roshan.
Before making his debut in a leading role in Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai in the year 2000, Hrithik had appeared as child artist in some films in ’80s. Hrithik earned a lot of appreciation for this commercially successful film, which was directed by his father Rakesh Roshan.
Hrithik had worked as assistant director in his father’s films Karan Arjun (1995) and Koyla (1997).
Hrithik worked as supporting actor in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) which was appreciated at the box-office as well.
Year 2002 was not so good for Hrithik as his all three releases – Mujhse Dosti Karoge!, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum and Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage failed at to impress audiences.
He played a mentally challenged young man in Koi…Mil Gaya in 2003 and made a strong comeback. This sci-fi film was directed by his father Rakesh Roshan.
In 2006 Hrithik played a superhero in Krrish, which was sequel to Koi… Mil Gaya directed by Rakesh Roshan who considers alphabet ‘K’ very lucky and most of his film titles start with it. Krrish was a super-hit.
In 2008, Hrithik Roshan played the role of Emperor Akbar in Ashutosh Gowariker’s period film – Jodhaa Akbar. Hrithik’s role was widely appreciated.
Hrithik Roshan’s last release was Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011); this youth-centric film was loved by young audiences.
Hrithik Roshan starrer Agneepath is one of the most awaited films of 2012 and is set to release on January 26. Hrithik will play the role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, which was earlier played by Amitabh Bachchan in 1990 Hindi film of the same title.
