Salman Khan has hit a double century in the country with his debut film, which is a commendable achievement. The Kabir Khan directorial is now the third highest grossing Hindi film of all time in China after Secret Superstar and Dangal.
With Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the profits made by Salman Khan Films and Eros International are humongous, as the film is a massive blockbuster at all the places where it saw a release. In the first phase of its release in 2015, the film raked in 432 crores in India and $28.64 Million (181.46 crores) abroad. The worldwide gross of Bajrangi Bhaijaan after the first phase of its release stood at a huge total of 613 crores (Approximately).
The amount earned by the distributors, Eros International from the first phase of the film release are as under:
- India Share: Rs 162 crore (Approx.)
- Overseas Share: Rs 73 crore (Approx.)
- Total: Rs 235 crore

Eros International in association with E Star Films Limited released Bajrangi Bhaijaan in China recently. According to our sources, the production house has fetched a revenue-sharing deal with the Chinese company, which means that a certain % of revenue earned by the film in China will be a revenue for Eros International, who are the Indian distributors of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Sources reveal that just like Secret Superstar, the Indian distributor share of Bajrangi Bhaijaan would be around 25% of Gross Collections minus – VAT (which is charged at 8%). The break-up of total overall revenue as of today is mentioned hereunder:
- India Share: 162 crores (Approx.)
- Overseas Share: 73 crores (Approx.)
- Chinese Share: 46.25 crores (Approx.)
- Total: 281.25 crores
Bajrangi Bhaijaan is looking to close its run in China at collections in the range of $40 Million. The success of Bajrangi Bhaijaan has opened an altogether new market for Salman Khan, and the industry now awaits the announcement about the release of Sultan in China.
