Modern Family star and Emmy Award-nominated comedy actor Fred Willard passed away on May 15, 2020. He was 86 while he was reported dead at his home.
Fred Willard’s death was confirmed by his agent, Mike Eisenstadt at the cause of the death wasn’t revealed at that time.
Talking about his demise, Fred Willard’s daughter told The Hollywood Reporter that he died peacefully and kept moving, working and making everyone happy until the very end. She also said that they loved him so very much and will miss him forever.
Now the latest update is that the cause of Fred Willard’s death is revealed. According to the death certificate obtained by TMZ, the veteran comedic actor’s immediate cause of death is a cardiac arrest while the underlying causes are listed as myelodysplastic syndrome and coronary artery disease.
Reportedly, the death certificate also notes Fred as a veteran of the US Armed Forces and his 60 years of contribution to the entertainment biz. It further says that he was laid to rest at the famous Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
Willard was married for 50 years to Mary Willard who died in 2018 at the age of 71.
After getting his start in sketch comedy, Willard went on to appear in many movies and television series for decades, almost always in small but memorable roles.
Fred Willard also appears in Netflix’s recently released series Space Force opposite Steve Carell.
