Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been in news from the past number of weeks following her upcoming project Thalaivi, a biopic film based on the life of actress turned politician and former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa.

The latest buzz related to the biopic is Tollywood superstar Jr.NTR was approached by the Thalaivi makers to reprise the role of his grandfather Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao aka NTR. Jayalalithaa and NTR had worked in many films and thus the makers felt that no one else except Jr. NTR can portray the role of his grandfather in the biopic, but things didn’t go as expected for the makers, as Jr NTR politely declined the offer.

Talking about Thalaivi, the film also has versatile actor Arvind Swami in lead. The Bombay actor in the biopic will be donning the role of former actor and Tamil Nadu CM MGR aka MG Ramachandran

The shoot for Thalaivi is in full swing. The biopic went on floors early this month.

As a part of the film’s preparation, Kangana underwent Tamil classes and also underwent training for Bharatnatyam to give complete justice to her character.

Thalaivi is being helmed by filmmaker A L Vijay and is produced by Vishnu Induri under Vibri Media Production.

The Kangana starrer is slated for its release in 2020. The film will hit big screens in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages.
