Hate Story 4 Movie Review
Hate Story 4 Movie Review

What’s Good: Few good twists and turns, Urvashi Rautela’s beauty and Karan Wahi’s honest attempt to act.

What’s Bad: Story revolving around the same old subject of revenge, too much of melodrama at places.

Loo Break: Go for it!

Watch or Not?: Only if you’ve seen the previous Hate Stories and remotely liked them then you can totally watch this.

User Rating:

Hate Story 4 starts on a melodramatic note which, as the story proceeds, is a flashback point. It’s about two millionaire businessmen brothers Aryan (Vivan Bhatena) and Rajveer (Karan Vahi). As Aryan and wife Rishma (Ihana Dhillon) looks for a new face for their cosmetics lineup, it’s the lusty Rajveer who brings in Tasha (Urvashi Rautela). The story starts when both the brothers fall for Tasha creating disputes in Aryan’s relationship with his wife.

It seems Tasha who is overwhelmed with the fame she gets overnight is in this game for more than just fame and money. The interval point reveals half of the mystery and rest of the story unfolds the remaining. Introduction of Vikram (Gulshan Grover), dad of Aryan and Rajveer, brings in the humour quotient. The faceoff oF brothers, the revelation of Tasha’s secrets and what happens with Rishma is what Hate Story 4 is all about.

Hate Story 4 Movie Review: Script Analysis

Penned by Sameer Arora, the story of Hate Story 4 is same old revenge drama but stylish. Falling for the same girl, faceoff in the climax & many more things which we’ve seen before. There surely are some interesting twists and turns but the average narration kills the pace. The only thing I want to know is why makers tend to infuse so much of melodrama in erotic thrillers? Who the hell on earth replies “You love my body because it has 65% of water” to “I love water” kind of comment? That has been the major issue with such movies like Hate Story 3, Aksar 2, Julie 2 and much more.

“Tum akeli rehti ho?” “Akeli hoon, tanha nahi”, WHY? Can’t she just say yeah I live without my family? Taking cinematic liberties, Vishal Pandya (Director) introduces some silly loopholes with it. In such movies, skin show has been kept top on the priority list while making and I as a guy I have no issue with it, but as a critic, I just have one request please keep the story on top.

Hate Story 4 Movie Review: Star Performance

Karan Wahi is best of the lot. Though I had no expectations from any of the cast but to my surprise, Karan has done a decent job. He’s good in emotional scenes too which usually has been a test for the actors.

Urvashi Rautela has looked smoking hot but her charm goes away as soon as she enters the melodramatic zone. She had one brilliant scene at the interval point in which she has truly looked like a badass. Better than anyone from Hate Story 3, Urvashi just needs to work on the scene which are high on physical expressions.

Vivan Bhatena is pretty average and passable. He hams throughout and fails to create the desired impact which Karan Singh Grover managed to in Hate Story 3. Ihana Dhillon is beautiful and does her part well. Gulshan Grover brings in the humour relief in the second half. He entertains for whatever little time he’s there.
