Every comic book fan eagerly waits for the San Diego Comic-Con event every year. However, this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event has been cancelled. Also referred to as SDCC, the convention was scheduled to run from July 23-July 26, 2020.
About the cancellation of Comic-Con, the organisers said in a statement, “Continuous monitoring of health advisories and recent statements by the Governor of California has made it clear that it would not be safe to move forward with plans for this year.”
David Glanzer, spokesperson for the organisation said, “Extraordinary times require extraordinary measures and while we are saddened to take this action. We eagerly look forward to the time when we can all meet again and share in the community we all love and enjoy.”

As reported by The Verge, people who had purchased the badges for this year’s convention will get a refund. If not refund, their badges will be transferred to Comic-Con 2021. Next year, the convention will run from July 22 to July 25, 2021. Those who had booked hotels onPeak, who works in the partnership with SDCC, their money will also be refunded.
