When the trailer of Avengers: Endgame released in December 2018, fans were disappointed to see Loki (Tom Hiddleston) nowhere in it. His character was choked to death by Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Infinity War. Yet, fan hoped the God of Mischief would return as he did it earlier so many times when he died.
But in Infinity War, it was the end of Hiddleston’s character in Thanos’ hands. Even the makers later cleared fans’ doubts and revealed that Thor’s brother is dead, so he won’t be seen in Avengers: Endgame. Now, a new theory about his death is out and it’s heartbreaking.
A Reddit user named GeneraIKenoA shared that God of Mischief wasn’t killed but it was a suicide. In their theory, the fan mentioned that Loki knew if he tried to stab the Mad Titan, he would be killed. So he let that happen so that Thanos and his army doesn’t kill his brother Thor (Chris Hemsworth).
The theory reads, “When I watched Infinity War the first time, that scene bothered me. Loki just watched Thanos absolutely body Thor and Hulk, and yet he thinks he can just stab Thanos in the throat and kill him? It’s absurd, and Loki’s supposed to be a fairly smart, conniving character. He’s capable of thorough illusions, and teleportation magic per Thor: Ragnarok. There’s no reason to do such a stupid and useless assassination scheme. Even if Loki does kill Thanos, Thanos’ Children will just immediately kill him and Thor, and even reformed Loki’s still only really concerned about his family, not the wider galaxy as a whole.”

We wonder how much truth is there in this theory. But it was good to see how Loki cared for his brother Thor.
Meanwhile, in Avengers: Endgame, 2012 Loki escapes with the tesseract. So fans are going to get a Disney+ series that will show us his adventures and mischiefs after his escape. This series is expected to stream on the digital platform in 2021.
