There’s a new update on the legal battle Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. It’s about Depp’s libel case against the newspaper, The Sun. 2 years ago, the newspaper called the actor ‘wife-beater’ in their story about Heard’s accusation on her ex-husband.
As reported by The Guardian, the High Court took a crucial decision in Johnny Depp’s libel suit. Mr. Justice Nicol stated that they will include Amber Heard’s former personal assistant Kate James’ testimony. Along with Kate James, David Killackey, a mechanic who worked for Johnny Depp and Amber Heard had also testified in front of the court. However, the judge dismissed David’s evidence ‘irrelevant’.
In his statement, Mr. Justice Nicol wrote, “I refuse to the claimant [Depp] permission to call Mr Killackey. I give permission to [Depp] to call Ms James to give evidence [to a limited] extent …”

Nicol also revealed the part of James’ claims that will be used in Johnny Depp’s support and against Amber Heard. He said that they will include Kate James’ claims that she has not seen “a serious or messy fight” and never witnessed signs of physical violence.
Tale a look at Kate James’ testimony in the Amber Heard-Johnny Depp matter she gave earlier:
Kate James declaration. I don't think any context is needed. It absolutely speaks for itself, and should be talked about far and wide.

The court will also consider Kate James’ statement about the credibility of Amber Heard in her dealings with the US Department of Homeland Security. This update comes a week after Johnny Depp’s ex-girlfriends Vanessa Paradis and Winona Ryder gave their statements in his support.
Both Vanessa and Winona said that Johnny Depp was never violent with them. In fact, Vanessa called the Pirates of the Caribbean actor “kind, attentive, generous and non-violent person and father.”
