Johnny Depp provided his evidence to the court yesterday. The case is against the British tabloid, The Sun. In one of their articles, the Pirates Of The Caribbean actor was referred to as ‘wife-beater.’ Owing to the same, JD slapped them with a defamation suit. New Group Newspapers and editor Dan Wootton are being sued.
Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, the libel suit had been pushed to July. The trial started yesterday and is going to last for the next three weeks. Johnny took the oath yesterday as he provided his piece of evidence. The actor accused his ex-wife of being physically abusive. Just not that, he also revealed about a time when Amber Heard or her friend defecated on his bed.
What has been grabbing eyeballs amidst it all, is Johnny Depp’s revelation on his daughter. The Fantastic Beasts actor revealed that he gave marijuana to his daughter, Lily-Rose Depp. What has left most baffled is that Lily was just 13 years old at that time.
The actor defended his actions, saying it was meant to be a part of his ‘safe parenting.’ He wanted Lily-Rose Depp to feel safe with the drug in her early teenage years. Johnny Depp shares Lily and son Jack with ex-partner Vanessa Paradis.
Johnny also shared about the wreck he had turned after his separation from Vanessa. They both were together for almost 14 years before splitting. This has left a void in the actor’s life and led him to get addicted to alcohol and drugs.
Opening about the same, Depp shared, “’I would definitely say that towards the end of my relationship with Ms. Paradis, the mother of my children, it was a very painful time – to break up with someone that you have been with for 14 years and that you have two children with. So it was a very painful time and I was more than likely trying to numb myself as much as possible.”
Johnny Depp also credited Sir Elton John for his sobriety post this tough phase.
