Fans love Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye in MCU films. The actor’s last Marvel film was Avengers: Endgame. Since then, he has made headlines several times. However, it was more due to his personal life than professional life. The Avengers’ actor’s ex-wife Sonni Pacheco now wants to him to take another drug test.
As reported by The Blast, this is regarding the child support case between Sonni and Renner. His ex-wife wants the Court to shelve the proceedings and focus on the actor’s alleged substance abuse. In the court documents seen by The Blast, Pacheco also revealed that her ex-husband owes her over $500,000 in child support of their 6-year-old daughter, Ava.
On the other hand, the Avengers: Endgame actor Jeremy Renner has denied the alleged substance abuse issues. He revealed that he took a drug test in February 2020, and the result was negative. Post his claims, Sonni Pacheco has asked him to show those drug test results from February till present.
Sonni also wants the Avengers: Endgame actor to “undergo an immediate drug test conducted and supervised by an independent laboratory.” She claims that Jeremy Renner has a “long history of alcohol and drug abuse which has persisted since before the parties’ marriage, through divorce and post-judgment”.
Pacheco also accused the actor of being reckless around their daughter amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Hence, she wants Renner to take coronavirus test too.
In her statement, Sonnu Pacheco mentioned, “It appears that Respondent is not following pandemic safety guidelines, including while Ava is in his custody, particularly in his Reno home. His evidence strongly suggests that Respondent has numerous people in his Reno house without wearing masks. The participants include several young women.”
On the other hand, Avengers: Endgame star Jeremy Renner has demanded the Court shut his ex-wife down. He also accused Sonni of coming up with false claims that he has a drug problem.
The actor’s response reads, “There is absolutely no basis for this Court to grant the requested relief with respect to a drug test. Likewise, there is no basis for this Court to order Respondent to take a COVID test when there is no evidentiary basis that he has, or has been exposed to COVID.”
A court hearing regarding this matter between Jeremy and Sonni is scheduled for August 20.
