On Tuesday, Terry Crews was asked why he believed that the Black Lives Matter leaders made violent crimes amongst the black community as the primary focus. Darren Lemon said that they should rather address racial inequities.

Terry Crews had earlier shared his disapproval about the civil-disobedience movement.

Don Lemon said, “The Black Lives Matter movement was started because it was about police brutality. If you want an All Black Lives Matter movement that talks about gun violence in black communities, then start that movement with that name. But that’s not what Black Lives Matter is about.”

On 30th June, America’s Got Talent host had tweeted, “We must ensure (Black Lives Matter) doesn’t morph into (Black Lives Better).”

Don Lemon further enquired Terry Crews by saying, “If someone started a movement that said Cancer Matters and then someone comes in and says, ‘Why aren’t you talking about HIV’, it’s not the same thing.”

To answer, Terry Crews said, “Black people need to hold other black people accountable.”

Don Lemon was quick to say that more violent crimes are committed because of close proximity within a community.

Terry Crews also talked about his tweet, which garnered quite a lot of backlash. He told Lemon, “I don’t want to move from one oppressor to the next.”

Don Lemon asked, “Who’s the next oppressor?”

The interview was quickly ended by Lemon, who seemed to have run out of time.

“I’m over. I’m over, Terry,” said the journalist, interrupting Terry. “I gotta go, Terry. I gotta go. I gotta go.”
