August 2026 has ended, and it has brought solid collection at the box office in North America with the two giants dominating the theaters – Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey. The Odyssey was released in mid-July, but it is still dominating the domestic box office, and Brand New Day came out on the last day of July; its major collection was in August. The Christopher Nolan-helmed film began its journey in mid-July and spent two weekends in that month. Despite that, the film collected $205.2 million at the North American box office in August. It has added a solid contribution to the domestic box office this past month. It is among the biggest releases of this year, right behind the Spider-Man movie.

On the other hand, Spider-Man: Brand New Day began its major box office journey in August, since it was released on the final day of July; its opening weekend collections were also earned in August. Therefore, it becomes the biggest contributor by default. The Marvel movie added $721.9 million to the August box office total in North America. Thus, the top #2 spots for the domestic box office for August 2026 are held by two Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jon Bernthal starrer movies.
