Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran’s Tillu Square amassed a healthy opening weekend at the worldwide box office, surpassing the entire lifetime collection of the predecessor. In the latest development, the film witnessed a bigger drop than expected on the first Tuesday, i.e., day 5, but still, it is moving in the right direction to enter the 100 crore club globally. In the opening weekend itself, the Tillu sequel crossed the 50 crore global milestone and entered the weekdays by passing the Monday test with flying colors. At the Indian box office, the film did a business of 6.20 crores on Monday, which is a very good hold when compared to the opening day of 11.20 crores. However, yesterday, a bigger dip was seen in the collection.
Tillu Square was expected to stay steady and earn anything above 5 crores. However, the film witnessed a slightly bigger drop, and 4.60 crores (estimates) came in. Adding this to the total collection, the Siddhu Jonnalagadda starrer stands at 44 crores net at the Indian box office after 5 days. It equals a gross total of 51.92 crores.
In the overseas market, Tillu Square is doing really well, and as per the latest update, the collection has gone up to 21 crores gross. Out of this total, over 16 crores are coming from the North American box office alone, and it is already a big hit there. As word-of-mouth is good, the film is expected to rake in more impressive numbers over the next few days.
Combining both Indian and overseas gross collection, the worldwide box office total stands at 72.92 crores gross. So, the film is on the right track to enter the 100-crore club globally. And if this happens, it’ll become the third Tollywood film to achieve the feat this year. So far, only two films have hit the 100-crore milestone. January releases, HanuMan and Guntur Kaaram are the only films that have crossed 100 crores gross.
