Paramount Pictures’ Thor may have dropped 47% as compared to the previous weekend but it continued to be on top of the North American box-office chart. It grossed US $34.7 million in its second weekend to take its 10-day total to $119.5 million. Universal’s Bridesmaids debuted at the second place with a take of $26.3 million. Another Universal flick – Fast Five – came in third.
Falling one place in its third weekend, it amassed $20.4 million to make a 17-day total of $169.7 million. Screen Gem’s Priest made an entry in the chart at no. 4 with a paltry collection of $15 million in its opening weekend. Rio rounded off the Top 5 chart with a collection of $8.3 million in its fifth weekend. The Fox film’s total for 31 days went up to $125.2 million.
