The Lion King Box Office Day 1 Early Trends: As expected this Disney flick has taken a good start of the box office in India. In fact, it’s one of the best openings for any Hollywood releases here. It has also surpassed The Jungle Book’s 10.09 crores, which was too helmed by Jon Favreau.
Yesterday, it was reported that The Lion King has managed an occupancy of around 35% in morning shows and said to improve in evening and night shows due to decent reviews flowing in, which is exactly what happened as the movie has earned in the range of 10-12 crores, as per the early trends.
With this sort of opening, it has surpassed recent Hollywood release, Spider-Man: Far From Home (9.75 crores) and might just fall short of Captain Marvel’s (12.75 crores) opening day, thus emerging as the third-highest of 2019 after Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel.
The families being the main target audience, the movie is expected to jump huge on today and tomorrow.
After breathing new life in the Rudyard Kipling classic “The Jungle Book“, director Jon Favreau is back with “The Lion King” in a bigger and better avatar, and the Disney classic is expected to roar loud in India.
Favreau has updated the 1994 screen classic with photo-realistic, computer-generated animation, to bring back the adventures of Simba, who is to succeed his father Mufasa as King of the Pride Lands. It narrates a tale of how he rises up to the occasion despite several attempts to bring him down by his villainous uncle Scar.
