Christopher Nolan’s Tenet has cleared all the doubts which industry had regarding its theatrical release and success. The big-budget sci-fi film has been an ambitious project for Nolan and hence it wanted to release the film only in cinemas. Taking all the risk in the world, he opted for a theatrical release internationally and it seems to have paid off now.
John David Washington and Robert Pattinson led Tenet released in 41 international markets including the UK, Canada this weekend, it surpassed all the opening expectations.
As per Variety, Tenet has taken an opening of $53 million in the international market which is more than what was expected from it. The film had already released in Korea which despite COVID-19 surge has done a contribution of $5.1 million so far. Other than that, the UK is leading with a contribution of $7.1 million whereas France and Germany have done a business of $6.7 million and $4.2 million respectively.
Isn’t that great?
