Post PK Aamir Khan Can Beat Salman Khan, SRK In Koimoi Box Office Power Index

With Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan entering the 200 crore club with their films – Happy New Year and Kick respectively, 2014 was quite a year of thunderous performances and superlative money spinning at the box offices. While SRK stands on No. 1 position at Koimoi Box Office Power Index with 1000 points, Salman has taken the 2nd rank with 850 points.

Shah Rukh has 3 – ‘100 crore club films’, 2 – ‘200 crore club films’ and 6 films in the Overseas Top 10 list, giving the star 1000 points in his kitty. On the other hand, Salman has 6 – ‘100 crore club films’, 1 – ‘200 crore club film’ and 1 film in the Overseas Top 10 list, giving him 850 points.

While Aamir, with 1 film in the 100 crore club, 2 films in the 200 crore club and 2 films in the Overseas Top 10 list, he stands at No. 3 position currently. However, with the release of PK next week, the ranks of all the Khans will surely change.

Let’s assume, if PK enters the 200 club, which is expected with quite an ease, it will give Aamir Khan another 200 points, that will give him 800 points in total.

Well, further possibilities are if PK works well at the International arena, it has high chances to enter the Koimoi Overseas Top 10 List, that will evict SRK’s Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna from the list. Resulting, 50 points in Aamir’s kitty and SRK to lose 50 points making his score to 950 points.

If the above mentioned predictions come true, Aamir will have 850 points which will be equal to Salman Khan’s points. However, the actuals will decide Aamir’s position – whether he’ll still stand at Number 2 or Number 3.

Well, Aamir Khan was quite close to the 300 crore mark with Dhoom 3, that raked in 280 crores nett solely at the Domestic box Office. Now, if PK becomes the first movie to cross the 300 crores mark, Aamir might thus earn 350 points, resulting his total to 950 points.

Well, all eyes on 19th December, as PK releases!

• Each Top 10 Overseas club movie has been given 50 points. So the number of movies in the Overseas list multiplied by 50 gives power points for Top 10 overseas presence.
• Sum of all the above points is the Total Box Office Power Index Points.
• When there is tie between 2 stars’ Box Office Power Index Points, then they are placed in the Box Office Power Index Position based on the collections of their respective film.
• Total Box Office Power Index Points leads to Box Office Power Index Position rating.
