Though Phata Poster Nikhla Hero wasn’t a specifically bad film, the box office numbers did not echo any appreciation for it. In its Week 3, the film earned in the range of 1.35 crores at the Domestic Box Office. The film’s total collections so far now stands at 37.85 crores nett.
With Rajkumar Santoshi’s direction showing a slight drop in caliber, the film quite evidently put up a disappointing show at the domestic box office. Shahid donning formulaic ways worked quite well for the venture but the film’s overall performance at the box office was below average with it failing to recover back its investment too.
