The big day has finally arrived, when the cine-goers can witness their favourite actor Akshay Kumar’s latest release, Mission Mangal, which has been garnering praises by the majority and being touted as the perfect Independence Day release. But is the occupancy in sync with the buzz? Looks like it’s way beyond expectations!
Mission Mangal which released today, as per the early trends flowing in, is witnessing a massive morning occupancy of 55-60%. While we’ve seen the crazy previously this year with Hollywood’s Avengers: The Endgame (which of course remains unmatchable) and Salman Khan’s Bharat, but a movie from this genre witnessing such mammoth response is indeed overwhelming. Guess the Akshay Kumar effect is working as expected!
Last year, with Gold releasing on the same occasion, the actor had witnessed his highest opener – now it will be interesting to see whether he manages to achieve another milestone this year!
Mission Mangal recreates the event about the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) of November 2013. The film also stars Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Nithya Menen and Kirti Kulhari.
Sonakshi made everyone’s jaws drop during a media interaction for their forthcoming film “Mission Mangal” when she knocked him over from his chair. It turned out to be a prank by Akshay and Sonakshi.
The actress shared the moment on Instagram Stories.
In the video, Akshay is seen sitting beside her and talking to a journalist about “Mission Mangal“. He then moves a bit to adjust his chair and pushes it slightly backwards. It is then when Sonakshi gives a slight nudge to Akshay’s chest, making him topple off his chair!
As everyone gasped, Sonakshi said: “If people irritate me, that’s what I do”.
