Mary Kom opened with a decent business on its first day. the film collected 8.4 crores on its opening day. The Priyanka Chopra film has been on of the most anticipated films of the year. Being a biopic on the life of Mary Kom, the film was not expected to make a smashing opening considering it is not regular commercial cinema.
The film showed a good response at the multiplexes, although the single screens remained poor over the first day. Also since the film was a normal Friday release, the week day collections are good.
