Madgaon Express had a good hold on Tuesday as it hardly dropped from Monday. That’s reassuring since the film is coming after an extended weekend which also included a partial holiday, and still, if there are footfalls coming in, then it shows that there is a segment of the audience that’s actually lapping it up. Otherwise, the drop on Tuesday at least would have been significant but thankfully that’s not the case.
Madgaon Express collected 1.46 crores on Tuesday, and that’s not far away from Monday’s numbers of 1.63 crores. In fact, on Saturday, Sunday and then Monday too, the film had consistently scored in the 2.70-2.80 crores range and hence even that Monday to Tuesday drop is not much. There was an offer of a flat ticket rate of Rs. 150/= (with certain conditions) on Tuesday so with no more offers today, it would be interesting to see how the film holds up. Anything over 1.25 crores would be nice as that would mean that even tomorrow, at least 1 crore mark will be crossed.
Madgaon Express has now reached 11.32 crores, and so far, the trend indicates that it will have a lifetime of at least 20 crores. However, if the holds turn out to be better than expected, then this one can just play on and on and keep getting better numbers. It deserves that too, since the humour quotient is whacky here, and a film/treatment like this is rare in current times.
