On the partial holiday of Good Friday, Madgaon Express had collected 1.03 crore. Since there as a boost in collections due to the holiday factor, a drop of around 50% seemed on the cards on Monday, and that would have been fair. More so since the film is also in its second week. Hence, around 50 lakhs seemed on the cards. However, the comedy managed to sustain better than expected, with 71 lakhs coming in.

This pretty much indicates that if one discounts the partial holiday factor, then the regular Friday to Monday fall is negligible. This also means that Madgaon Express can expect to hold around the same levels right from Tuesday to Thursday as well, hence ensuring that around 1.75-2 crores will certainly get added to the total. Of course, the merits of the film warrant that at least 1 crore comes daily. That would be fair indeed for the film which has been really liked by those who have watched it. Hence, more footfalls would mean better spreading of positive word of mouth in a quicker time.

The Kunal Kemmu-directed film has now reached 18.46 crores and it will comfortably go past the 20 crores mark by the time the second week is through. Post that a lifetime total of 23-24 crores for Madgaon Express is assured now. And with some push it manages to hit 25 crores then it would be a reasonably decent score for this small-budget film by Excel Entertainment.
