The advance booking for Jai Ho has began partially across the key cities in India. Being a Salman Khan release, the film’s promotions are played down greatly if compared with a lot of recent releases, but Salman’s star power is enough for being a crowd puller.

In Pune and Mumbai, the advance booking has begun in known old cinemas. In Mumbai especially, the popular single screens are already witnessing a good first occupancy with tickets selling fast. Though in Mumbai, the number of multiplexes introducing the advance bookings are almost non existent, in Pune multiplexes are garnering good responses.

In Delhi NCR too, the advance booking has started only in the popular cinemas in the main city and Ghaziabad. However, booking have aboslutely not started yet in Faridabad, Noida and Gurgaon.

In both Bangalore and Hyderabad, advance bookings has kicked off in full form, with both cities witnessing good fills at the cinemas on the first day. Chennai however saw a minimal beginning to advance bookings for the film. Conspicuously, the film’s advance booking did not begin at all in Kolkata and adjoining regions.

The pre-booking for Jai Ho hasn’t began in full form yet. And being a non-holiday season release, the film will have to toil harder at its way through record breaking successes. Chennai Express last year saw one major holiday on the day of its release unlike Krrish 3 and Dhoom 3 both of which cashed in well the ongoing Diwali and Christmas holiday season respectively.

But in no way the partial advance booking for the film is indicative of a lower buzz for it. Most film distributors are confident that this will surely be a bombastic release simply because Salman has stayed away from silver screens for a very long time and his fans now can’t wait for the release. Though a matter of concern here is that Salman is risking a non-event release for his film, without a holiday season which might deter his box office income due to the continuing working days in order. The daunting move is commendable as this will be the right time to see if non-event films too can run on sheer star power.
