Haiwaan, starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, is the next Bollywood release, arriving in theaters tomorrow (September 11). The film reunites Akshay with director Priyadarshan after the success of Bhooth Bangla. However, this time, they are coming with a crime thriller rather than a comedy entertainer. Exhibitors are trying to accommodate all three films, which is likely to leave the crime thriller with below-par show count across India. As we write, the film has been allotted around 3,200 shows, and the average ticket price is 247-250 rupees.
Haiwaan sells over 10K tickets through day 1 advance bookings
Coming to the advance booking update, Haiwaan has sold 10.4K tickets (excluding blocked seats) for day 1, as of 10 am IST. In terms of collections, it has grossed 26 lakh at the Indian box office through opening-day pre-sales. The number is very low considering the name associated with the film. However, it’s completely understandable, as the film is a word-of-mouth-dependent affair.

With still one more day to go, Haiwaan has a chance to fetch a fair-to-decent number in day 1 advance bookings. Today, being the final day before the arrival, there’ll be some movement at the ticket windows, and the final gross collections are expected to touch the 1 crore mark in pre-sales.

The crime thriller is produced by Venkat K Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn under the banner of KVN Productions and Thespian Films. It also stars Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Saiyami Kher in key roles. The film features Mohanlal in a cameo appearance.
