Anand Deverakonda’s film Epic – First Semester hit theatres on September 11. The film received an A rating from the censor board and arrived amid much anticipation. There was much expectation from the film. The makers promoted the film extensively, with Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, who are related to Anand Deverakonda. It stars Vaishnavi Chaitanya in the lead. The film had a modest opening at the box office despite its A rating.

How Much Did Epic – First Semester Earn At The Box Office On Opening Day?

The Anand Deverakonda-starrer earned 2.1 crore net in India on its opening day. This was a decent collection for the Telugu drama. However, the film received positive to mixed reviews on social media on opening day. It will have to be seen how the film performs over the opening weekend. The film has no major competition in the Telugu-speaking states, apart from Irumudi, which is currently in its fourth weekend.

Anand Deverakonda’s superstar brother Vijay Deverakonda was initially supposed to clash with Epic, but the elder brother moved his film. Ranabaali, which marks the on-screen reunion of real-life couple Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, will now be released on Dussehra.

Anand Deverakonda’s biggest opening so far is his only hit film, Baby. The film collected 4.05 crore net on its opening day and went on to gross 100 crore. The actor began his acting journey in 2019 with Dorasani, which was a commercial failure. He had a hit in Middle Class Melodies. However, the film was a direct-to-OTT release. If Epic continues to perform well, it can mark Anand’s second hit.
