The releases from last week faded out as Bhaag Milkha Bhaag sustained its strong run at the box office even in its 3rd weekend. The films – Nikhil Advani’s D-Day and Prabhudeva’s Ramaiya Vastavaiya, both suffered a drop in its collections through their 2nd weekend.
D-Day, though praised amply by critics failed to translate the same in its income as the film on its 2nd weekend could earn only 2.25 crores. So far, the film’s total income could only reach a cumulative of 26.25 crores at the domestic box office.
On the other hand, Prabhudeva, whose films have mostly turned out to be box office wonders suffered his first low in Bollywood as Ramaiya Vastavaiya failed to be as successful as his previous films, Wanted and Rowdy Rathore. Lack of star value resulted in a drop in the film’s collections and by the conclusion of the its 2nd weekend, the film could reach its earning only in the range of 29 crores approximately at the domestic box office.
The only films performing well at the box office right now is Farhan Akhtar starrer Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Hugh Jackman starer Hollywood flick The Wolverine. Due to the sagging releases of two consecutive weekends, there is a high chance that Bhaag Milkha Bhaag ascribes for itself a place in the distinguished 100 crore club!
