Join UsBaaghi 2 is turning out to be a delight for its producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Fox Star. With the film crossing 150 crore at the Box Office in its third weekend, it has now entered the list of Top-20 biggest grossers till date (since the advent of 100 Crore Club).
What makes this feat all the more exciting for its makers is the fact that now both the entities have multiple biggies each in this elite list.
While Fox Star has three films in there [Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Bang Bang, Baaghi 2], Sajid Nadiadwala has two [Kick, Baaghi 2]. Here are the details of these films with lifetime numbers mentioned:
(Eid release) Kick – 232 crore [Sajid Nadiadwala]
(Diwali release) Prem Ratan Dhan Payo – 210 crore [Fox Star]
(Gandhi Jayanti release) Bang Bang – 181 crore [Fox Star]
(Good Friday release) Baaghi 2 – 155.65 crore (still playing) [Sajid Nadiadwala and Fox Star]

There is another interesting factoid associated with these films. While Kick was an Eid release, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo came on Diwali. However, Bang Bang released on Gandhi Jayanti when this holiday was not really considered popular.
However, the release promotion, marketing and release strategy adopted by Fox Star changed the equation for this Hrithik Roshan starrer. Similarly, Good Friday was never considered to be hot, especially since it is a partial holiday. However, Fox and Sajid decided to leverage this date and the result was mammoth opening that Baaghi 2 managed on its date of release.
Hopefully, the two production houses will continue to have major successes under their belt and there would be more interesting holiday dates that would be leveraged in time to come.
