TE3N has taken an ordinary start at the Box Office. This was on expected lines though since it was pretty much on the cards that this was going to be a word of mouth affair. From that perspective, the film did see some traction coming its way as the evening and night shows commenced. Though the overall occupancy for the day was around 30%-40% mark, the increase in footfalls as the day progressed has given the film a chance to see an escalation over the weekend.
On its opening day, the film has collected 2.61 crore. Though a better number would have made this Sujoy Ghosh production breathe a little better, it would be interesting to see how far does the film go from this point on. That said, the collections are lesser than Amitabh Bachchan’s last release Wazir which belonged to the same genre and incidentally had its base in the similar premise.
Another release of the week, Do Lafzon Ki Kahani, arrived on a lesser number of screens than TE3N. The Randeep Hooda and Kajal Agarwal starrer entirely depended in the word of mouth since getting a decent opening number was always going to be a challenge. There wasn’t much to cheer about for the makers though as the film collected only 1.03 crore on its opening day. The reviews for the film are ordinary at best, though it’s action and music have been appreciated. It is going to be a tough ride ahead for the film.
Meanwhile, Housefull 3 has begun it’s second week on a decent note. With 3.50 crore more coming in, the film has now collected 83.60 crore at the Box Office. The film should see some good push today and tomorrow which will see it come further close to the 100 crore mark.
