Sarbjit had a low start at the Box Office on Friday. The film wasn’t expected to be great shakes on the opening day but still at least 5 crore seemed on the cards. It all depended on word of mouth though. In fact this is what helped the film see a little push in the evening and night shows as the morning was just not encouraging enough. Still, with some momentum building up in the evening, the collections came to 3.69 crore.

These numbers are less than half of what Omung Kumar’s debut directorial affair Mary Kom [8 crore] had gathered. In fact, it is even lesser than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s comeback film Jazbaa [4.23 crore]. It is much better than Randeep Hooda’s other biopic flick Main Aur Charles [0.75 crore] though. When compared to other biopics/real life stories that have released in the recent times, this is how Sarbjit stands:
The film has seen mixed response coming its way with bad, average, good and very good reviews. It all boils down though to how audience picks this one up over the weekend. The escalation in collections has to be real strong today and tomorrow so that Sarbjit can close the weekend with a healthy number.
