Box Office: Sarbjit Earns Decent On 1st Weekend

Sarbjit has been just about okay at the Box Office. The film had a below par beginning on Friday and its only chance lied in showing a tremendous jump on Saturday and Sunday.

There was some push evidenced as the film brought in 13.95 crore over the weekend. That said, one expected a lot more, considering the credentials that the film carries, what with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead and director of Mary Kom, Omung Kumar, at the driver’s seat.

In fact, the collections are lesser than even Fitoor [14.11 crore], Rocky Handsome [16.12 crore] and Sanam Re.. [17.05 crore]. That said, since the collections have increased over the weekend, stable weekdays could help Sarbjit to some extent.

Sarbjit also stars Randeep Hooda and Richa Chadha and it’s a biopic on Sarabjit Singh, who was wrongly acquitted by a Pakistani court.
