There are as many as six Bollywood releases this weekend – Raman Raghav 2.0, Junooniyat, 7 Hours To Go, A Scandall, Dil Toh Deewana Hai and Rough Book. However, it is Hollywood’s big release Independence Day: Resurgence that would take the lead over each of these releases. Sequel to smash hit Independence Day which released way back in 1996, the film boasts of a good promo and would be picked up by those who love action/sci-fi/disaster genre of films.
As for Bollywood, there are half a dozen releases on the way and out of these, Raman Raghav 2.0 would see a comparatively better opening. The film boasts of a good promo and for the niche audience, it has something to offer. Moreover, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is gaining a good audience base which would ensure some sort of an opening occupancy at he least (20%-30%).
7 Hours To Go has its concept as its USP. Junooniyat has good songs and an eye catchy look but despite the delay in release for over six months, it has not seen a marketing or promotional push. It is arriving without much of a buzz which is surprising too since it has Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam coming on big screen again after Sanam Re, which was a decent success.
A Scandall tried to be in news with its shocking promo and other promotional material but hasn’t managed to attract eyeballs. As for Dil Toh Deewana Hai and Rough Book, the first challenge for them would to get an all-India release with good shows, something which is very tough due to arrival amidst a heap of releases and that too without any promotion.
